A regular meeting of the International Advisory Board was held at the Higher School of Business KFU

As part of the KFU anniversary events at the Higher School of Business KFU, on November 25, 2019, the 6th meeting of the International Advisory Board of the Higher School of Business was held on the topic: “The Internationalization Strategy of the School of Business”.

The meeting was attended by:

• Valery SOROKIN - Chairman of the Board of Directors of AK BARS BANK, General Director of AO Svyazinvestneftekhim, Chairman of the International Advisory Board of Higher School of Business KFU,
• Ilshat GAFUROV - Rector of Kazan Federal University,

• Lenar NAZIPOV - Director General of OOO TagraS-Holding,
• Artyom GORLANOV - Director of OOO TagraS-EnergoService,
• Svetlana SOTOVA - Deputy General Director for Economics and Finance of AO Ak Bars Holding Company

• Ramil NIGMADZYANOV - General Director of ZAO Yoshkar-Ola Meat Processing Plant
• Sung Joo PARK– the founding President of AAPBS, Professor Emeritus in KAIST Business School (South Korea),
• VirginijusKUNDROTAS – Dean of the Adizes High School, President of the Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA),
• Alsu AKHMETSHINA - Dean of the Higher School of Business KFU

The Rector of Kazan Federal University, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Ilshat Gafurov addressed the members of the International Advisory Board with a welcoming speech. He thanked them for their active participation in the activities of the School and noted that their professional expert opinion was essential in shaping the development strategy of the Higher School of Business, including the international strategy of the business school.

The first item on the agenda was the introduction of a new member of the Advisory Board, Nigmadzyanov Ramil Zulkafirovich, Director General of Yoshkar-Ola Meat Processing Plant, and a graduate of the 2018 MBA program.

The School Dean Alsu Akhmetshina presented to the Advisory Board the school’s activities for 2019, the growth dynamics of key indicators, the results of spring and autumn recruitment for long-term programs, current Russian and foreign ratings, in which the Higher School of Business takes part, presented the news about the opening of the School’s doctor’s council on economics and national economy management (industry). 

In her keynote presentation, Alsu Rinatovna presented the strategy of internationalizing the business school, determined the goals and objectives of the strategy, as well as how to achieve them and the necessary resources to implement this strategy, presented new, ready-to-launch Executive MBA programs and master's programs.

In his speech, the international expert on Asian countries, Prof. Sung Joo Park spoke about the international experiences of the internationalization of business schools, answered the following questions posed by him:

Why is internationalization important? How to become an international business school? What are the key tools for implementing an internationalization strategy? How to attract financial resources?

Virginijus Kundrotas spoke on the issue of business school programs entering the international market, emphasized the feasibility of attracting students to the master's and MBA programs from the CIS countries.

On the occasion of the 215th anniversary of KFU, Virginijus Kundrotas, as President of the Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA), presented a memorable gift to Rector Ilshat Gafurov.

At the end of the meeting, Alsu Rinatovna thanked Rector, members of the International Advisory Board for constructive work, and for valuable suggestions on implementing the school’s internationalization strategy.
